UPM Raflatac plans to increases its production capacity in Asia

        UPM Raflatac plans to increases its production capacity in Asia Pacific through new investment projects in China and Malaysia.  New investments include machinery upgrades and installation of a new coating line in the company’s factory in Changshu, China and Johor Bahru, Malyasia.  The upgrade is projected to increase production capacity by 50% in the region.
        It has been recently announced that UPM Raflatac had started construction of another production unit in Changshu, China as part a plan announced in August 2012.  The upgrade will add EUR200mn to the company’s bottomline over the next three years.
        Tapio Kolunsarka, EVP at UMP Raflatac, said, : ‘Our business has seen a rapid growth in Asia over the past years and these investments will give us the needed capacity for continued growth, and take our capabilities and quality to the next level.‘ These developments will clearly improve our competitiveness towards meeting customer demand in the future.’
